Hello everyone
Dear Community, I would like to share a few words on behalf of the AlterWare staff.
I regret to inform you that Alyssa, previously known by her online aliases alltheamps/shiversoftdev/serious, has passed away.
We found out about her passing very recently via a social media post left by her brother on her YouTube account. The post shares the news of her passing in late 2025.
I am deeply saddened by this news. I have known Alyssa through Discord for her work on Black Ops 3 and other topics of research regarding the Call of Duty engine. I have collaborated with her in 2023 and later in 2024. Alyssa helped me a lot with Call of Duty related projects, as she helped many others through her online presence in the Black Ops 3 modding community. I hope she will be remembered for her talent in computing/technology and her willingness to share her knowledge. She pioneered many interesting areas of research when it comes to Black Ops 3 engine [note 1].
I have fond memories of Alyssa. We laughed together about various things when it came to the CoD communities we were part of, and I remember Alyssa helping me as she shared her knowledge. I have learned many things from her.
I think it is fair to say her work impacted many thousands, if not tens of thousands, of players who wanted a safer gaming experience on Black Ops 3. Her other projects also touched so many others.
I would like to conclude by saying that I hope Alyssa is now in a better place and that her soul is now resting. May her memory be a blessing, and let it live long with us as her work continues to have an impact throughout various projects. Thank you for everything you have done.
Note 1:
I knew Alyssa through Discord, and I have mainly interacted with her about Call of Duty and programming-related things. To me, she was a legend in the area of Black Ops 3. I do not know much about her personal life. I wish to point out that in this post, I am focusing on what I know about her work, which she shared with us. The work she produced that I am aware of mainly concerns Call of Duty related research. I am 100% sure she was as charming to her friends and family as she was with us as she interacted online. Please forgive me if I only focused on a portion of her life.
Alyssa was best known for creating T7 Patch, a tool that allowed users to be protected against “hackers/modders” abuse while playing Black Ops 3 online. She was also known for her Black Ops 3 mod called “Zombie Blood Rush”.
